I am Adriaan, I have three beautiful kids, I am an aquarius and I have been involved in sailing & canoeing for a long time. Water is totally my thing: it drinks great, but to sail on it in the wind, or chop it with your paddle to get into the good wave-surf with your canoe, I think it’s fantastic. And if the stuff is cold enough, you can ski on it great in winter. In high school I had a boyfriend with a 16 squared who we sailed with on the Wielen near Leeuwarden. A strong boy in front who had to hold off and then hit hard. When I was eighteen I became a sailing instructor at sailing school De Morra. Later on board skûtsje HoopDoetLeven to participate in the IFKS1993. Then the big work in the A-class with skûtsje GroteBeer where we took daily prizes and even close enough to smell the medals. When the Grote Beer was sold to Lolle, I was a team member for several years. After that I started canoeing more, in sea canoes, flat water canoes and most recently in a surfski. My work at Rabobank is risk management and nowadays Audit. I get enthusiastic about thinking hard about difficult things and then coming up with great solutions, and there are plenty of those at the bank. Then it is nice to be able to alternate that office work with exercise in nature and preferably on the water. Born in the bare clay in Friesland and love sailing in Gaasterland. Fantastic that we now have a torso that allows you to float to fat in the medals. I’m really looking forward to be the first to cross the finish line on that front deck. We can! On a skûtsje it is wonderful to have a perfect breeding, better than the rest. The jib is a supercharger, the engine of the ship.
